We are Timetag, a family run startup originally from South Africa that was founded in 2018.
We offer a simple software solution that integrates with biometric hardware to accurately track employee performance, allowing business owners and people managers to focus on other parts of their business instead of having to comb through unreliable paper clock in cards and sign in registers. We have a companion mobile application that allows off-site/travelling staff to check in to predefined locations so companies can accurately bill their clients for time on the job.
In 2022 we joined a Start-up Incubator in Lisbon and were chosen by the city to represent them at Web Summit 2022. Since then we have developed our product for the European market.
We have an established client base in Southern Africa, and are looking to expand into the UK and Europe.

Time & Attendance Software:
We sell a cloud based software solution for access control & time and attendance. It integrates with payroll systems. The software is user friendly and has been very successful with the HR teams who use it to quickly generate attendance reports, removing the frustration of manual processes and existing paper sign-in registers or old-school clock card machines. Using biometric readers (fingerprint, palm & facial) every employee can accurately register their time and get paid correctly for their hours worked.
Reports:
Our most popular report is our timesheet which can be viewed and downloaded or imported into their preferred payroll system. This allows the HR team and department leaders to see at a glance the time at which their employees have clocked in and out for the day.
Our other templates and reports are customised versions of the timesheet with company specific columns.
Exception Report:
If the employee is absent or late without reason it creates an exception report that is automatically emailed to the HR department, they can then consult with the employee to verify a valid reason for their absence or late-coming.
Biometric readers:
In some cases clients will need physical biometric readers placed at the entrance and exit of their building. We also have a portable reader that can be used for non-traditional offices and for offices that are in remote area (ie. construction).
Mobile application (Android & iOS):
We have a mobile app that allows managers to track their employees on the go. This works well for outbound technical teams and sales teams. The manager can preload the client addresses using geo location functionality, employees can only clock in when they are within a certain range of the clients premise. When the employee leaves they can be prompted to either complete a custom questionnaire or fill in a digital job card report.

Access Control:
Our software can also be used for access control and keeping track of visitors. This gives the companies real time access to monitor who is on the premises at all time. For some companies this includes giving authorised employees access to restricted areas within the company (ie server room or CEOs Office).
Attendance Management:
Our most popular use for timetag, which allows managers to track employee attendance and segment them into department, roster, shift and designate break times and overtime allowance.
