We generate the opportunity. You survey it, design the commercial solution using our proven proposal system, present it and close it. Our installation team then delivers what you’ve sold.

Gas Worx Southampton Ltd is an established heating and renewable energy company based in Hampshire, with around 20 years’ experience in the heating industry.

We specialise in helping homeowners move towards lower-carbon, more efficient homes through heat pumps, solar PV, battery storage and air conditioning.

We have already completed a significant number of renewable installations and have an experienced in-house installation team, established processes and a strong focus on customer service, system design and long-term performance.

We are now entering the next stage of our growth and are looking to strengthen the sales side of the business with someone who can take qualified opportunities, build trust with customers and confidently close high-value renewable energy projects.

Roll:

Gas Worx generates and qualifies the opportunities. You take it from there.

You’ll meet homeowners, survey their property, understand what they’re trying to achieve and build the appropriate renewable-energy proposal using our established proposal system.

Our commonly used heat pumps, solar, batteries, air-conditioning equipment, materials and installation items are already priced and loaded into the system, helping you produce accurate, profitable proposals without building quotations from scratch.

You then present the solution, follow the opportunity through and close the sale.

You’ll have access to the business owner, experienced renewable engineers, technical design support, CRM, marketing automation, finance options and a full installation team to deliver what you sell.

Products

Our main focus is residential renewable energy and home energy upgrades, including:

  • Air source heat pumps
  • Solar PV systems
  • Battery storage
  • Heat pump, solar and battery packages
  • Air conditioning / air-to-air heat pump systems
  • Hot water solutions and associated heating upgrades
  • Larger whole-home renewable and heating projects

A typical heat pump installation is a significant-value project, and combining technologies such as heat pumps, solar and battery storage creates considerably larger opportunities.

We offer customers a complete service from initial assessment and system design through to installation, commissioning and aftercare.

The sales representative would primarily be responsible for progressing qualified leads, understanding the customer’s needs, presenting the recommended solution, overcoming genuine concerns, following up proposals and ultimately securing the order.

Benefits

  • Working with a well-established company

Gas Worx Southampton Ltd is an established heating and renewable energy business with around 20 years of industry experience. We already have an experienced installation team, established supplier relationships, customer processes, technical expertise and a strong local reputation. This is not a start-up asking a salesperson to prove whether the business model works. We already design and install renewable energy systems and are now looking for the right salesperson to help us increase the number of customers we can serve. The successful candidate will be joining a genuine installation business with the infrastructure behind it to deliver what they sell.

  • Innovative product / service

Renewable energy is becoming an increasingly important part of the UK home energy market. Rather than selling a single product, Gas Worx can offer customers a complete home energy solution including: Air source heat pumps Solar PV Battery storage Air-to-air heating and air conditioning Hot water solutions Heating system upgrades Combined heat pump, solar and battery packages This creates an excellent consultative sales opportunity. The salesperson can identify what the homeowner is actually trying to achieve and recommend the most appropriate combination of technologies. We are particularly interested in developing our whole-home energy offering, combining heating, electricity generation and energy storage into one solution.

  • Excellent commission terms

We intend to offer a strong performance-related commission package that properly rewards the salesperson for generating profitable business. Our projects are typically high-value domestic installations, with individual renewable projects frequently running into five figures. There is also considerable opportunity to increase order values by combining technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV, batteries and air conditioning. This means the right salesperson does not need an enormous number of sales each month to generate an attractive level of commission. The final commission structure will be agreed with the successful candidate and will be designed to reward both sales volume and profitable, high-quality business. Gas Worx supplied lead: 20% of Commissionable Gross Profit 5th completed sale onwards in the same month: 22.5% of GP Self-generated customer: 25% of GP Add-on sale to a customer they originally sold, within 12 months: 10% of GP Payment: 50% at Secure Order + 50% at installation commencement/stage payment.

  • Professional training and support

The salesperson will receive extensive support from an experienced heating and renewable energy business. We do not expect the successful candidate to become a heating engineer. We will provide the technical knowledge, product training and sales information required to confidently explain our solutions to homeowners. Support will include: Heat pump product and system training Solar PV and battery training Understanding running costs and potential savings Government grant information Finance options Understanding heat-loss surveys Proposal and quotation support Common customer objections Our sales process and customer journey Access to experienced engineers and technical support We aim to allow the salesperson to become highly knowledgeable commercially without expecting them to design or install the systems themselves.

  • Sales leads provided

Yes. A major attraction of this opportunity is that Gas Worx is already investing in lead generation and marketing. The salesperson will not simply be handed a telephone and expected to cold-call homeowners all day. We are developing a structured lead-generation and nurture process where prospective customers are educated about Gas Worx, our services, typical costs and the customer journey before progressing through the sales process. The primary role of the salesperson will be to: Contact and qualify opportunities Build relationships Understand the customer's motivation Conduct sales consultations Present proposals Follow up on quotations Handle objections Ask for the order Close profitable renewable projects We would also welcome someone capable of generating their own opportunities, but self-generation is not the sole basis of the role.

  • Sales and marketing support

Gas Worx will provide significant sales and marketing support. We already have and continue to develop: Paid lead-generation campaigns Website enquiries Customer nurture emails Customer case studies Customer testimonials and reviews Video content Heat-loss and energy assessment tools Professional proposals Customer finance options A structured CRM process Customer portals Follow-up communication Technical design support Marketing campaigns across renewable technologies The salesperson's job is therefore not to build an entire sales system from scratch. We want them working within, and helping us improve, an established sales and marketing process.

  • Freedom & flexibility

We are interested in results rather than unnecessarily controlling how an experienced salesperson structures every hour of their day. The role will offer a good level of independence and flexibility. There will be opportunities for: Home working Telephone and video consultations Customer site appointments Flexible diary management Managing your own sales pipeline Working closely with the business owner Helping shape the future sales process There will naturally be customer appointments, meetings and performance expectations, but we want an experienced salesperson who can take ownership of their pipeline rather than someone who needs constant supervision. For the right person, there is also an opportunity to grow with the company as our renewable installation capacity expands.

Target market

Our core market is homeowners across Hampshire and the surrounding South Coast who are considering upgrading their heating or reducing their reliance on traditional energy sources.

Typical customers include:

  • Homeowners replacing gas, oil, LPG or direct electric heating
  • Customers considering an air source heat pump
  • Homeowners interested in solar PV and battery storage
  • Customers carrying out major renovations or extensions
  • Higher-energy-use households looking to reduce running costs
  • Homeowners interested in becoming more energy independent
  • Customers looking for a complete heat pump, solar and battery solution
  • People who value good design, quality installation and long-term support rather than simply choosing the cheapest quotation

Our sales approach is consultative rather than aggressive. Renewable energy can be a complicated purchase, so customers often need someone who can simplify the numbers, explain the technology, deal honestly with concerns around cost and payback, and give them confidence that they are making the right decision.

We already generate leads and have a structured customer journey in place. We are therefore looking for someone primarily to help convert genuine opportunities rather than spend all of their time cold prospecting.

Ideal Profile

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded salesperson who is particularly strong at consultative selling and closing.

Ideally, they will have previous experience selling one or more of the following:

  • Renewable energy
  • Solar PV or battery storage
  • Heat pumps
  • Heating systems
  • Home improvements
  • Kitchens, bathrooms or other high-value domestic projects
  • Energy efficiency products
  • Other £10,000+ consumer purchases

Detailed technical knowledge can be taught. What is more important is the ability to communicate clearly, understand what motivates a customer, ask good questions, deal confidently with objections and follow opportunities through until a decision is made.

We do not want a stereotypical high-pressure salesperson. Our reputation is extremely important to us, and we want someone who can sell honestly while still being comfortable asking for the order.

This opportunity should be particularly attractive to an experienced salesperson because Gas Worx already has much of the infrastructure around them.

We provide the installation capability, technical knowledge, surveys, quotations, customer journey, finance options, CRM processes and ongoing marketing activity. The salesperson can therefore concentrate heavily on nurturing opportunities and closing business.

There is also significant scope for increasing order values through combinations of heat pumps, solar, batteries and air conditioning rather than being restricted to selling one product.

We currently have an established installation capacity and intend to expand this further as sales increase. For the right person, we see this developing into a long-term position with considerable earning potential and the opportunity to become a key part of the growth of Gas Worx Southampton.
