We are looking for sales partners to sell VLDB’s specialist data and AI services to mid-market and enterprise organisations, including:
Our priority is recurring managed service contracts, supported by consultancy and implementation projects. VLDB provides technical presales support, solution design and delivery.
VLDB Solutions have been trading for 18 years
VLDB has experience working through technology partners and sales teams, with relationships including Broadcom, EDB, Softcat and Arrow. This provides a foundation for partner-led selling, with salespeople identifying opportunities and VLDB providing technical expertise, solution design and delivery. We are now looking to extend this approach through independent sales agents. A typical opportunity would involve an organisation seeking specialist database support, lower operating costs or modernisation of its data infrastructure. The agent introduces the relevant decision-maker and helps develop the relationship, while VLDB supports discovery meetings, scopes the solution and prepares the proposal. For example, a DBAaaS opportunity could become a 12–36-month managed service agreement covering database monitoring, maintenance, optimisation and support, billed monthly. Migration, upgrade or data engineering projects can provide additional project revenue and opportunities for ongoing support. Agents would earn commission on successfully secured business under an agreed structure, with the potential for recurring earnings from managed service contracts.
VLDB combines specialist database expertise with private AI and managed services to help organisations reduce costs, improve reliability and make better use of their data. Our innovative offerings include DBAsk, which enables business users to ask questions of their data in plain English, using privately deployed AI models. This makes information more accessible while keeping sensitive data within the organisation’s controlled environment. SovereignDB provides a data platform deployed on-premise or in sovereign cloud environments, giving customers greater control over data location, infrastructure and costs. These solutions are complemented by Database Administration as a Service (DBAaaS) and managed data platform services, bringing ongoing monitoring, maintenance and performance optimisation together under a monthly contract. For sales agents, this creates opportunities to address practical customer needs—from database support and modernisation to private AI—with VLDB providing technical presales expertise and delivery.
VLDB offers 10% commission on qualifying service revenue received from customers secured by the agent, with the commission period agreed upfront. For example, a managed service contract worth £5,000 per month would generate £500 per month in commission, equivalent to £6,000 over 12 months. Where commission is agreed for the full three-year contract, the total earning potential would be £18,000, provided the customer continues paying throughout that period. A consultancy or migration project worth £100,000 would generate £10,000 in commission. Commission is calculated excluding VAT and third-party hardware, software licensing and infrastructure costs, and paid as the corresponding customer payments are received. VLDB provides technical presales, proposal preparation and delivery support, allowing agents to focus on developing relationships and winning business.
Repeat business would be paid as contracts are renewed.
Training and support given.
Sales and marketing support given. Sales collateral and technical support.
Freedom and flexibility is given across the role.
Our target market is medium-sized and large organisations across the UK and Ireland that rely on databases and data platforms to run their business.
Key sectors include retail, manufacturing, food and drink, logistics, financial services, utilities, higher education and the public sector.
We are looking to engage IT Directors, CIOs, CTOs, Heads of Data and infrastructure leaders who need to reduce database and cloud costs, modernise legacy systems, improve reporting or introduce AI securely.
Ideal prospects have complex data environments, limited internal specialist capacity, or a requirement for ongoing managed database support. We offer both project-based services and recurring managed service contracts.
We are looking for experienced B2B sales agents, independent sales consultants and business development professionals with established relationships among IT Directors, CIOs, CTOs and Heads of Data across the UK and Ireland.
Ideal candidates will have experience selling IT services, managed services, cloud solutions, databases or enterprise software. They should be comfortable identifying business challenges, opening doors and developing consultative sales opportunities. A strong commercial understanding is more important than deep technical expertise, as VLDB provides technical support throughout the sales process.
This opportunity offers commission-based earnings across both project work and recurring managed service contracts, with scope for repeat business and account growth. Candidates can offer a broad portfolio addressing clear customer needs: reducing costs, modernising systems, improving data availability and adopting AI securely.
VLDB supports agents with sales collateral, technical discovery, solution design, proposals and delivery expertise, backed by partnerships with Broadcom, EDB, Teradata, AWS and Azure.
