The London Business Journal (LBJ) is London’s number one business magazine: a London-focused, yet national and international, media platform covering the companies, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors and professional communities shaping business in the capital and beyond.
LBJ is built for growth. Alongside editorial and digital publishing, its commercial operation spans advertising, branded content, sponsorship, business events, awards, conferences, exhibitions, special reports and bespoke B2B media solutions. Agents who come on board now will be well placed to grow alongside the platform as new commercial products, events and revenue streams are added.
LBJ is now expanding its commercial sales operation and is actively recruiting experienced independent sales agents ready to build something substantial.

Sales partners have access to a broad and expanding portfolio of media, marketing, sponsorship and B2B commercial opportunities. This is not a single-product role: the portfolio gives agents multiple reasons to approach any client and multiple ways to build recurring revenue.
The commercial portfolio includes:
Where an agent identifies a credible commercial requirement, LBJ will work with them to develop a bespoke proposition for that client. This creates opportunities ranging from straightforward advertising sales through to substantial integrated partnerships and special projects, giving experienced salespeople more to sell, more reasons to open a conversation and greater potential deal values than a conventional advertising-only brief.
Commission rates run from 10% on standard qualifying sales up to 20% on major deals and premium commercial partnerships. Deal values can be considerably larger than in a conventional advertising-only role, with no earnings ceiling.
Agents earn recurring commission on qualifying repeat business from clients they personally introduce, with account protection of up to 12 months, renewable for agents actively managing and growing the account.
Work remotely and manage your own prospecting, meetings and client relationships. LBJ is focused on results, not micromanagement, and strong performers are actively encouraged to pursue larger accounts and new commercial opportunities.
The addressable market is wide. LBJ’s audience of business owners, executives, entrepreneurs, investors and commercial decision-makers in London and across the UK is attractive to a broad range of organisations, from global brands to fast-growth SMEs.
Priority sectors include:
At corporate level, agents may approach major brands, banks, professional-services firms, property companies, technology businesses, institutions and advertising and media agencies for larger advertising, sponsorship and integrated partnership opportunities. Within the SME and entrepreneurial market there is significant scope to develop high-volume and repeat business through advertising, sponsored features, business profiles, thought leadership, events and targeted promotional campaigns.
Additional targets include trade associations, membership organisations, business networks, government and economic-development bodies, universities, conference and exhibition organisers, and international companies seeking visibility or market entry in London and the UK.
The strongest agents will not look for a fixed prospect list. They will identify commercial opportunities across sectors and match the right LBJ proposition to each client’s objectives.
You are a high-achieving, self-motivated B2B sales professional who knows how to open doors, build relationships and close business. Ideally you have a proven background in media sales, magazine or publishing sales, advertising, sponsorship, exhibitions, conferences, awards, events or integrated commercial partnerships.
You are as comfortable discussing a significant strategic partnership with a corporate marketing director or agency as you are identifying an ambitious SME that would benefit from a well-constructed media campaign. You sell solutions, not just space: you listen to a client’s objectives, identify the commercial opportunity and assemble the right combination of products to secure the business.
The following background and attributes will make you especially well placed:
There is no artificial ceiling on what you can develop here. Successful agents can build their own portfolio of repeat clients, earn recurring commission on qualifying business and progress towards handling larger accounts, sectors and commercial projects as the LBJ commercial portfolio continues to expand. If you want genuine scope and independence backed by a credible media brand, this is the right platform to build on.
