Want to earn a recurring 20% commission on remote sales of music events to London/UK pubs? Then please read on!

We have been delivering weekly, multiple-format live music event services to pubs in London for over ten years.

We are looking for a commission-only salesperson to join the team as a freelancer, to expand our number of partner venues and increase our weekly event count.

Initially you’ll be focused on London locations, then expanding over the UK. Potential clients are any and every pub in the UK  (along with some bars and even hotels)- a potentially huge market!

Sales are made via cold-calling outreach, and subsequent follow ups, via phone and email. A database and CRM of venues will be provided for you to work through along with a work email account.

Commission on sales are paid on the last Friday of each month, at 20% of gross profit on sales, for all events you originally sold, that ran in the preceding month. This is ongoing and recurring commission until those events stop (which can be years down the line).

Example:

  • You book 8 new events in June, that will start running weekly from July
  • Those 8 events run in July
  • End of August you’ll be paid 20% of the gross profit from sales for those 8 events
  • For any of those events that continue to run in August, you’ll again be paid 20% commission on their gross profit at the end of September
  • This continues monthly until the events are cancelled (which can be years down the line)

Below are some examples:

N.B. These figures are for illustrative purposed only, and not guaranteed; your commission maybe lower or higher, depending on circumstances outside of your control (i.e. how long the events continue for you once they start) and within your control (i.e. how many sales you close and at what value). With that said:

The current average single event gross profit is £116, meaning your commission would be £23 per event. As the events generally run weekly and assuming they run for approx. 48 weeks per year (there’s usually a break over Christmas and New Years), that gives you an average single sale annual commission value of £1,114.

In an ideal world, if you closed the sale on one new weekly event per week, over a 48 week year, that would give you £1,114 x 48 = £53,472 in annual commission, which would continue paying out year on year, so long as the events continued.

However, as the world is never ideal(!), let’s assume a 50% reduction (e.g. events don’t continue for whatever reason). That would still be an annual recurring commission of £26,736. If you add more sales the next year, that would increase.

We’re looking for someone who:

– is results-orientated and loves to close sales and earn commission!
– has a strong work ethic in picking up the phone and making calls
– can choose their own hours to work; as most pubs are open from 10-11am until 10-11pm, Monday to Sunday (though obviously the more hours you work, the more sales you are likely to get, the more commission you’re likely to earn!)
– is amiable, polite and professional on the phone, whilst still maintaining their own personality (we’re not after robots!)
– is self-motivated and can work with minimum supervision
– is methodical in working through and following up with leads, both via the phone and email
– has attention to detail and the discipline to use and update our database and CRM with their activities after every call/email
– is self-autonomous and happy to work mostly asynchronously with your line manager, including leaving them an end-of-day daily update voicemail
– works as a freelancer, on a recurring commission-only basis; the more you sell, the more you earn!

If this sounds good to you then please get in touch ASAP!

Products

We sell music events services to small venues (e.g. pubs).

We have multiple format events/products, such as open mics, featured artists, cover artists, etc, and are looking to expand the product range (e.g. with DJs, etc).

Our events usually run weekly; our host will come in and setup the required equipment, then compare and run the event. We supply performers and, if necessary, the equipment.

Benefits

  • Recurring commission

You earn recurring commission on all gross profit from your sales. Sales are events. As most events run weekly, you'll be earning commission for that single sale every week that the event continues to run. Commission is paid out monthly, one month in arrears (i.e. commission will be paid end of August for all events that ran in July).

  • Sales leads provided

We have a database of most pubs in the UK. Most have phone numbers. Many have email addresses. You'll be given specific geographical areas to work through (i.e. via their postcode, filtered from our main database). Where you find a venue that doesn't have an email address (or one that might not have a telephone number), as they are pubs who want to attract the public, usually a quick google search will give you their contact details.

  • Freedom & flexibility

You'll be working remotely and you can choose what hours you work. Since most pubs are open every day of the week, and often from 10/11am to 10/11pm, you have a large scope of potential working hours. As you'll be working autonomously, you can choose when you work. The only caveat would be that the less leads you contact, the less pitches and sales you'll likely to make. Conversely the more leads you contact, the more sales and commission you'll likely make!

Target market

Pubs predominately. Also bars, hotels, cafes and restaurants are potential customers, though pubs are by far our core market.

We supply and run music events services for them, giving their customers a reason to return regularly, and potential customers a reason to come for the first (and hopefully not last!) time.

Once in the venue, our events encourage the customers to stay for the duration of the evening (our events are nearly always in the evening). The longer a customer stays in a venue the more they tend to spend over the bar.

This combination of  increase in customer volume and length of stay results in increased profits for the venue.
