We need you to sell a fire and smoke damper testing service. All you need to establish is ,who is responsible in a business for ensuring they are tested (normally this would be someone responsible for fire safety or maintenance). Then confirm their interest in receiving a quotation, find out how many dampers need testing, and pass this to our quote team to produce the quotation. Finally, present the quote, close the sale and look forward to the commission.

A bit of background of what drives the demand
Fire and Smoke dampers are installed into ventilation ductwork where it passes through fire barriers, such as fire escape routes. Very similar to fire extinguishers, there is a legal requirement to have these dampers inspected and tested at least annually.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and BS 9999:2017, it is a legal requirement to ensure that all fire dampers are drop tested, cleaned and maintained every 12 months. This ensures that all fire escape routes are protected by fully functional fire and smoke dampers in buildings.
There is a BESA Guidance document VH001, which gives guidance on what needs to be done in a testing service, this can be used as a sales aid seeing as our testing process and reporting meets this guidance.
