Do you love a good industry exhibition and understand the value it can offer to your clients? Are you adept at explaining the advantages of a great business show and how it can build brand awareness and increase sales?

Pathfinder International publishes a well-respected magazine aimed primarily at servicemen and women leaving the UK Armed Forces and runs regular expos where they can get all the information they need to successfully transition to civilian life.

We’re looking for a seasoned sales executive to sell exhibition space for our Pathfinder International Resettlement Expos. You’ll play a vital part selling stands to education providers, universities, colleges and businesses providing training and resettlement services for Service Leavers.

This is a great role for an experienced advertising sales agent eager to land their next career move in an industry where you can make a real difference.

The Product

Pathfinder International was established in 1991 to provide resettlement advice for people leaving the UK Armed Forces. As well as producing a monthly magazine, distributed by the Ministry of Defence, we run regular Pathfinder International Resettlement Expos.

These events put Service Leavers in touch with the companies that can help them make a smooth transition from military to civilian life. They have the chance to meet training providers, employers, financial advisers, education establishments and many other businesses who can offer guidance and support.

There are five events scheduled over the next 12 months around the UK with their popularity increasing with both exhibitors and attendees.

  • Excellent commission terms

  • Sales leads provided

Pathfinder International will provide a foundation of sales leads based on our historical data and email campaigns. Candidates will also be expected to generate fresh leads.

  • Ongoing support

Personalised digital packs detailing the packages on offer will be provided. Online product training given. Sales manager available to provide further support when needed.

  • Exclusive sales areas

Exclusivity may be granted based on geographical location and and/or industry sector.

  • Freedom & flexibility

Sales agents may opt to work on numerous events or only on one event which may relate to their location or knowlege of a specific area.

The Target Market

When military personnel leave the Armed Forces they need help finding employment and settling into civilian life. From applying for a job, to retraining, organising finances and looking for accommodation there’s plenty for them to consider. To help, they’re given training grants and redundancy funds which can be used to pay for educational courses.

One of our core target markets is universities, colleges and other training providers but so are any businesses offering services which may be of use to Service Leavers looking to make their next career move. The British Armed Forces are some of the most highly trained and sought after in the world, so recruitment advertisers are key exhibitors.

Companies within a certain radius of each event are also an important target market.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for candidates who:

  • Have extensive event space sales experience
  • A knowledge of Forces life and an understanding of the civilian transition process is an advantage but not essential
  • Can work with the leads we provide but can also actively build their own fresh leads and bring in new exhibitors
  • Are great self-starters
  • Are enthusiastic and dedicated
