We have two ranges (with a third coming on stream) of UKCA, EN approved mid-high end eBikes wholly built in Turkey from established brands that are only exclusively distributed by Welans in the UK. There are commuter bikes through city bikes, folders and mountain bikes with a variety of competitive retail price points £1600 to £4000 currently. We have stock from our UK base and scheduled stock on monthly shipments from the start of MY24. These bikes are excellent quality and with great performance and contemporary design, many with internationally recognised battery/motor combinations, all batteries are EN certified and contain either branded LG or Samsung Li-ion cells so are ahead of the latest legislation on lesser-quality batteries. Motors are from brands such as Shimano and Bafang amongst others which are market leaders. Very simple and transparent commission terms for bicycle sales. We will pay a generous fixed amount per eBike sold to the dealer, the self employed agent will invoice the sales commission to Welans Ltd and be paid upon invoice payment, our dealer terms are usually 14 or 30 days dependent upon the dealer credit status. We will use invoice financing in certain scenarios which will expedite commission payment. Our ranges start at £1600 retail price inclusive of VAT and dealer margins are industry leading and our flat-rate commission per bike is payable from the initial order upon account opening ongoing, including direct orders placed with the office and click and collect orders driven from our marketing and ecommerce sites
Our aim is to make the proposition of our agency as fruitful as possible for everyone involved, with that in mind we envisage a physical visit to retail stores to be required approximately once a month to keep the energy flowing around the product and brands, with that in mind a manageable exclusive territory should be the aim. We would discuss existing areas/potential customers with the successful candidate and model an area in which they have total exclusivity, naturally we want expansion with the right partners so this could always be expanded subject to the appetite of the agent and manageability of the area covered
We would aim to hold meetings after engagement with the agent online and by phone, we would meet at the Brighton office from time-to-time to show and discuss new products/directions for the company but largely the agent would be totally free to develop their territory and make their visits and approaches using their existing developed skills and methodology. As mentioned we feel a monthly visit to each dealer would be suitable but would be happy to discuss any successful approach on offer, some businesses prefer less contact, some require more hand-holding, particularly in the early stages of a new relationship such as this and we understand and appreciate the specific ways in which the agent already works
Our target market is Independent Bicycle Dealers, we want the expertise in sales and maintenance that they bring, and can deliver them quality product with good margin without huge commitments to inventory, often the ruin of relationships with distributors in the marketplace. The dealer would buy a modest representation of the range/ranges that would work best in their business rather than a mass of boxes to empty our warehouse into their store. We would work with our agent to select areas and specific shops from our research and from their existing network of contacts and customers to create the optimum coverage for their area. We will offer the facility for the dealer to participate in “click and collect” which would be managed from the office here in Brighton driving further sales to the stores for which commission would also be paid to the agent

We are seeking motivated, professional and dependable established agents who have an existing and expanding clientele of Independent Bicycle Dealers into which they can introduce the proposition of our brands to complement their store offering. Technical knowledge of eBikes is not essential but comparisons to the existing brands in the market to differentiate on cost, value and quality will assist in promoting these bikes, to that end we can offer support and training. Warranty function is performed from the office so practical repair abilities are not required. We envisage a successful candidate having a portfolio of approximately ten key accounts with bicycle shops and with an appetite to open suitable stores beyond their existing customers, within the prescribed geographical area in which they operate. Contact within corporate bicycle retailers could establish additional revenue for the agent on a slightly different remuneration basis given costs would be altered, however our primary target market would be the independents. All the usual essentials for an agent insofar as working autonomously, communication and customer feedback, email communication and reporting would apply.
