Esse Systems is a UK and Ireland focussed SAP Silver partner, specialising in the SME sector, with the SAP Business by Design and SAP Business One portfolio. Esse Systems was founded by the former Chairman of the SAP UKI User group (2011-20), we are an exciting UK start-up with a team of experienced SAP consultants, engineers, and program managers, together with unique software development experience in complex adaptive systems.


In this role your focus will be selling SAP Business by Design and SAP Business One products together with Esse Systems business consultancy, implementation, engineering, and program management services to supply solutions to our customer’s requirements.

The role will initially be based on a commission only agent model – you will be paid a generous commission on all business you help Esse Systems win and may be full or part time, home based. Over time the role has the potential to become a full-time employee and for exceptional performers company shares is possible.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead the SAP line of business to a client centred, outcome-based sales approach
  • Takes responsibility for delivery of SAP sales in the UKI
  • Maintain a strong relationship with SAP UKI
  • Drive and keep a high-quality sales pipeline and accurate forecast
  • Prospect new direct clients and partners to develop new business, revenue, and profit for Esse Systems
  • Working in collaboration with Esse Systems SAP Specialists to generate new business
  • Lead negotiations, coordinates complex decision-making process, and overcomes objections to capture new business opportunities
  • Effectively communicates and presents the Esse Systems Value Proposition and all associated SAP solutions
  • Manage the sales lifecycle, including sales strategy planning, deal reviews, gaining approvals, sales pipeline management and forecasting, deal closure planning
  • Assist with all marketing related events, seminars, mailings, and call campaigns, with a focus on actionable lead generation, working closely with the Esse Systems marketing director
  • Properly log all client activities, opportunities, and contacts in CRM
  • Proactively invest in your personal training and development. This includes keeping up to date with software & IT industry trends, particularly those related to SAP solutions for the SME market


The target market is SMEs in the UKI – businesses that are targeted by the SAP Business ByDesign and SAP Business One portfolio

Ideal Profile

Sales Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Degree level preferred and/or proven ability to quickly learn
  • 3+ years of experience in SAP Sales
  • Experience selling solutions to the UK SME market
  • Hunter profile and proven solution selling experience with an emphasis on strong new business development skills
  • Collaborative sales style that aligns with the customer value and needs – aligning with Esse’s ethos to help our customer’s
  • Ability to build relationships and quickly develop trust with C-level executives
  • Outgoing, confident, and highly social
  • Persuasive communication skills; verbal, presentation and written document
  • Ambitious and highly motivated self-starter
  • Ability to collaborate and mobilise others
  • Deep consulting and problem-solving skills to analyse and document customer business requirements and pain points
  • Ability to build broad networks within enterprise accounts across IT operations, project teams, architects, security, software managers, procurement, and commercial teams
  • Strong organisational, multitasking and time management skills; and
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team sales environment with minimum supervision.

Technical Knowledge

  • Particularly good understanding of SAP technology, implementation, and service delivery
  • Experience of selling SAP Business by Design and Business One
  • Commercial knowledge of SAP license pricing and professional services pricing to ensure competitive and profitable bids and deals
