Elgar Estates Publishing’s first book was Today’s Golfer: New Courses Guide, when Doug Eaton pitched award-winning golf course designer George Oldham to produce a comprehensive guide to new courses. His second book London Plaques: 5 Fascinating Walks, with a foreword by Rt.Hon. Mark Field MP, takes the reader around Mayfair, Marylebone and St.James viewing the homes of the great and the good. The third book Lest We Forget: The Most Outstanding First World War Memorials was published to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the Great War. All of these have been sold through major retailers and independents as well as on Amazon.

The company is now working on three exciting books and is looking for a creative sales agent to optimise sales throughout the UK. Following the success of ‘Lest We Forget’, The 100 Pubs You Must Visit features all the Grade I and II* pubs in the UK, with scores of excellent photographs and fascinating Pub Trivia. Doug gives talks to social groups and is a Guest Lecturer on cruise ships, and the most popular talk is Madcap Ideas:Quirky Inventions. The third new book is The Cavern Club in the 1950’s and 1960’s  in which the many famous scousers who visited the iconic club are interviewed. They include Lynda la Plante, Edwina Currie, Tom Baker, Ricky Tomlinson, Glenda Jackson, Alison Steadman, Willy Russell, Alan Bleasdale, and many many more
